One of the things about the movement of pro-choice that bothers me is, it is a self-serving, power-hungry movement.
In my brutally honest opinion, it is a kind of grand scheme to degrade the human race.
For every choice there is risk because the only true control we have is the power to make a choice.
For every choice there is a consequence. Whether it is a positive or negative consequence is relative at an individual level. One thing I have found in my experience to be present in time of consequence is Grace. I have the power to receive Grace in my choice’s consequence.
Pro-choice movement takes it a bit too far, in my opinion. I hear it encouraging its followers: you have the power to manipulate your choice’s consequence. (June 8, 2022 How grave is the consequence manipulated? Without choice, the innocent life assumes the ultimate shift in responsibility for the consequence: death. How lazy can people be? This lazy. Who does the consequence’s responsibility belong to? It belongs solely to the choice-makers.)
If I listen to the pro-choice movement intently, I hear its foundation is founded on the principle of manipulation. It is a cheating movement. #justinmyhumbleopinion
(June 8, 2022 Sex is an intelligently designed concept. So intelligent, the initiated act has the capacity to create new life. And what have we done with the beauty in it? We have diluted it. We have sensationalized it as an impulsive act of pleasure and mental stimulation. We have sensationalized it as something to do out of boredom. We have sensationalized it as something to seek in moments of loneliness. We have sensationalized it as a means to an end for confidence in insecurity. And through the pro-choice movement, we empty the beauty of its intelligent design.)
I am speaking this way all in the sense the individual has a choice to begin with; the choice being within the individual’s control.

Now consider this:

I believe the Pro-Life movement is an encouraging movement. There is life in Grace. The guest in this clip was conceived in rape. How reverent he is of his mother is something to behold. I appreciate how reverent Kristen is at her guest as well - her expression is serious at times. I try to empathize with her serious expression, and what I come up with that evokes that expression is being “face to face” with God’s glory. #aseriousmatter
What if we make the choice to abort Life a little too easy?
1/13/22 One thing we can do to make it a little bit more difficult is [1/22/22 teach children responsibility of choice: Adults would have presence of mind enough to break the concept down so it would impress upon a child. Adults would lead by example and practice awareness for teachable moments. #trainupachild]
(May 31, 2022 When I am hoping to numb my brain, one thing I have found myself doing is reading random quotes. I came across a quote that reminded me of my idea of training a child up.
[It just got a little harder to choose to abort life. I like how a Missouri Governor put his remark about the Supreme Court’s opinion: “I hope people respect this one and behave accordingly.” Exactly. June 25, 2022]
[5/27/22 I receive news from Matt. I also get some of the news from my dad. Any news of a mass causality is unsettling, but I think a mass shooting at an elementary school is most. I know, firsthand, how vulnerable that setting is; twenty-four human beings are emotionally dependent upon you.
Matt rhetorically asked me in a tone of disbelief, “How does this happen?” I understood his question, and I was just as angry.
Hindsight is always clear and can leave us in disbelief (May 28, 2022 and from there we draw our opinions.
Speaking of drawing, why not draw our prayers from hindsight? That would seem more purposeful.)
Evil is evil and has a power all its own, and the thing about the strength of good against evil is, evil may claim innocence in a moment, but as a neighbor reminded me years ago, good will always prevail. (May 28, 2022 And even moreso about the strength of good, it takes its time. To build beauty. Our responsibility to good is to stay in the right direction. We can trust in that direction because…) There is a covenant we can put our Hope in.
(May 28, 2022 May we all) do better in terms of reinforcing the meaning of community; (May 28, 2022 May we all) individually do better at being present.
It saddens me the few times I have tuned into this news, the teachable moment is poorly-supported. I have heard nothing except what has already been said before, and still it is an empty echo.
Gun control is a tired idea, and in a moment when people are heartbroken, when people are listening, and when people are wanting something for change:
What a lazy solution to rest in and mass communicate. There feels something more ready to embrace than gun control in a human being issue.
(June 1, 2022 But if that’s where people are, then a need for reform must be embraced. In my opinion, the need doesn’t start in reforming laws; the need for reform should start in unification of law makers and that filters down to voters voting responsibly.
As my godmother would say, “We sure did make a mess of things.”
It bothered me to know the gun purchase was made legally yet still in the hands of a person who had gravely ill intention to break Law. It bothers me because, in my opinion, it is scarier than if the firearm had been purchased illegally.
Law seems only a boundary that helps prevention. I see law is not prevention of evil.
Then, I wondered by that thought and the resounding response to this incident:
How do lawmakers careless?
For example, instead of arguing “We are taking your guns.” and “No, you can’t have them,” what if.
What if politicians analyzed how to increase protection of citizens by their constitutional right to bear arms?
Instead of struggling for votes and power, struggle for citizen protection in higher definition.
I read to purchase a long gun one can be as young as 18. That clearly was a blind spot in light of this incident; there is no disparity in how a gun operates, yet there is clear disparity in force.
The disparity in the perpetrator’s force was clear.
And how are our youth maturing these days? Does 18 today have any resemblance to 18 several generations back?
18 or older, my take is not that greater control would have prevented tragedy, my take is it should not take a mass casualty like this to even try to come to terms, to start gaining focus and to unify. Yet, it is a sad pattern that cannot gain any real momentum. It has become cyclical, and the circle appears to be remaining in the same plane.
It is even sadder when the concept of unification is still having trouble in the midst of this gravity. I still hear blaming which says to me, thinking is not in the present.
Present thought is protective.
(June 7, 2022 Blame is such a lazy reach, it is only negative momentum.)
Another tone bothering me is one gaining demanding momentum regarding law enforcement response. I agree response should be studied like a football tape, but let the justice system do its due diligence without public criticism.
Tactical response is already complex. Can you imagine the influence of emotion from that scene on that complexity?
The public should take some responsibility in their free speech, in my opinion.
(June 7, 2022 The only public who has a right to voice their opinion, in my opinion, is the family of the victims. Period.
The rest of the public should only be listening.)
Let’s not forget in ‘20 an impulsive, thoughtless, and reactive banner, in my opinion, was raised and publicized to defund law enforcement. Matt brought up an honest and thought-provoking remark, there:
consequence of choice has rippling effects.
One ripple effect that comes to my mind is: How is the confidence of our law enforcement doing?
Barack Obama publicized an ominous remark days later about police, and it read as an incomplete and disconnected thought to me. The political voice is still distracted/distracting.
My extreme take on all of this is:
How can we confront evil without God?)
(July 6, 2022 I read the police chief resigned from the City Council. I like the word resigned in this circumstance. If you are in a position of authority or any position for that matter, and you find, especially in the heat of the moment, you did not have what it takes, step away with the awareness respectfully. I appreciated the police chief’s response. His action set an example I can respect.)
Hearing practice love and kindness and check in with each other is more effort, but still, it feels cliche, especially when mass media has defined acts of love and kindness as random and less inciting news.
Matt said something poignant to me. He said the problem feels irreparable, so protection is imperative. I agree.
Presence is vital to good protection, and in general, society is distracted.
With Matt listening to me talk, I took self-responsibility in receiving the evoking news, and I asked myself, “Do I contribute to a problem like this or am I making everyday efforts to be part of a greater solution?” I gave myself one example of how I contribute to a solution. Matt agreed with me.
In news like that, I do not assume I am not part of the problem, and I do not assume the problem does not belong in my hands. (June 8, 2022 This clip is the sheer essence of how I mean that:
https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkx2gnWTGs3K_6VwNs0fEjULeuhtW4AvPn4 )
The episode also reminded me of what my mom only had to randomly remind us once in a family group text, “Stay present.” When you are present, being reminded to stay present by your mom feels protective.]
(June 17, 2022 I was sitting here eating my chicken sandwich for lunch in the silence with just a chicken sandwich in my hands. A thought floated in my head. It made me chuckle:
People argue all the time, but do they know how to argue fruitfully?
Arguing with the opposite side is a fruitless waste of energy.
I say fruitless because my preference is to argue with a side I agree is right and this method goes places. There is easy positive momentum there.
What happens when two same sides argue?
Ideas get fine tuned and sharpened. #ironsharpensiron
(April 6, 2023 This sounds like a good plan if you’re going to approach the opposing side - https://youtu.be/rv4CodgtRR8)
Matt and I argued about economics two nights ago while we ate leftover quinoa casserole. It is okay in flavor, but the conversation made supper exciting. He brought it up again, that question: How could it work back then your grandpa who distributed newspapers, magazines and comics with Nueces News Agency own a home, raise a family of four, and a wife at home?
I saw the twinkle in his eye with where he took me in his arguments. We were laughing at it all.
He even brought up Mr. Hayden, and I slyly asked him if he caught up with the recent blog I mentioned Mr. Hayden in. Of course Matt’s answer was, “No.” His excuse is: “I live with you. I know everything in your blog.” - We have always been hard at work when it comes to transparency in our friendship. I just thought that was a neat testament to our college Economics teacher’s talent. Mr. Hayden #oneofakind. Ohhhh. He even had a fun first name, I think it started with an F. Nope, his first initial was a J. Coming to mind, I think it was just John. I looked at ratemyprofessor.com, and Matt and I are in popular opinion about Mr. Hayden. He was still teaching in 2010. I was happy to see. Oh damn. I graduated with my degree from UH-V in 2008it’s not 2012, it’s 2022.)
(March 28, 2023 Thank you Holy Spirit for working through the Nashville officers, I thank God for their choice, readiness, presence and response. Thank God for men of action.)
