Mistakes.

I baked a three-layer champagne cake from scratch for my Grandma’s 90th birthday, and baking the layers took two tries.  I am not good at wasting, so I wrapped my first try tightly in plastic wrap and organized the bunch in my freezer.  I want to make cake pops with this fail.

I told my godmother one day, when I am feeling a negative feeling, I have found it gives me the tenacity to overcome the want in a task I do not want to do.

I want to make cake pops but I do not want to navigate the trials and errors.

I know trials and errors are not easily escapable when it’s something I’ve never done before.  But the mess amidst them is not fun to clean up when you have little to no success, and I like cleaning.

I got the cake layers out of the freezer from October 2021 last week, and I had enough tenacity yesterday to tackle the next step waiting for me.  Dunk the cake balls.  Before I could dunk them, I had to form the dough. Before the before, I asked how do I get the balls to form.

The secret to shapening cake balls is: After the layers and frosting are mixed together, pre-form the dough into balls.  The balls will be wonky.  Chill the wonky balls in the refrigerator for two hours, then give each another roll.  This will work the wonkiness out.  The secret worked for me. #iwillproclaimit

The white chocolate morsels melted wonderfully, and I dunked my first ball.  One, and I was done. #iknowmylimits

While I was waiting my turn for dental prophylaxis, I asked how do you dunk a cake ball.  There is such a process for cake balls, a video of how not to fail at cake pops is out there!  I watched through 9 mistakes, and it was no wonder I had so much trouble: Every claimed mistake you could make at dunking a cake ball, I made.  I am a cake ball dummy.

I drew an honest conclusion yesterday: I have intuition for creating cake balls.

While I was melting the chocolate I thought to myself, there’s a lot of drag in this.  Behold, one of the ways not to fail cake balls is add vegetable oil to melted chocolate to make its consistency more fluid.

Ignoring my intuition is a mistake.

Cake balls aside, I wrote to myself one day: Acknowledging and ignoring your intuition is one of the worst mistakes you can make for yourself.

Cake balls forefront, cleaning up the trial and errors of yesterday’s adventure was half good.  It would have been half bad if I hadn’t found the secret to forming un-wonky balls of cake.

Knowing I have formed dough in the freezer and a secret to melting fluid chocolate, I am excited to try dunking cake balls to completion again in the near future.

3/4/22 To completion.

Thank you Matt for taking my picture.  There’s looking at you! I thought some things driving to the grocery store behind a truck and trailer.  First, Yes; that must be some good help in that cab.  Second, that's some well used scaffolding #mindofateacher Third, gratitude for the life of Jesus Christ and Him wanting to share it with me in Him  https ://youtube.com/clip/UgkxzXJyENvvL2pYAws7N3iWv_0Ebl5MCi--?si=mQefTiag4raNoHqP Third, Fourth,  (7/28/24 Thank you Lord God for Your gifts of prayer and promise and wonder of the extraordinary in the ordinary. 🐕‍🦺I am ending my final entry with the beginning of a 54 day Novena for two people I’ve never met, but by powerful mystery beyond my understanding, I feel strangely connected by prayer to pray for. Fit check!  My Nitto Nomad Grapplers arrived!  I waited years for these tires to arrive on the market to fit my vision and another year to fit the budget.  I am still creating my very own bumper sticker 🎣 and my vision will be complete.  My bumper sticker inspiration courtesy of “Beau”: I never stuck it on my dogwalking vehicles, though.   Thank you, Guardian Angel, for turning the wheel just right. I wanted to keep Beau’s gift of encouragement to me in a bumper sticker in keepsake condition.  Once upon a time…  But I would walk “500” miles  And I would walk “500” more  Just to be the girl who walked “1000” miles To up- lift her car. I met Hebrews 1:3 today.  I have a feeling that Scripture is going to be my favorite way He is told.   My favorite way Mary is told is “the greatest enemy of Satan”; I don’t think those exact words are in Scripture but her receptivity is definitely that vibe.    https://www.ewtn.com/catholicism/library/marys-enmity-towards-satan-was-absolute-8038    “On this planet we have a saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” -Transformers: Age of Extinction  Mary is the enemy of the enemy; therefore; Mary is my friend.   I thought about how quiet Mary is.  I have seen some images of her crushing the serpent under the weight of her heel while holding Jesus as a baby.  I think that’s my favorite depiction of The Mother of God- Mary defeats evil holding infant hope.  That is mysterious power.  I can sink my teeth into that kind of mystery, and I will want to.   https://nds.edu/blog-entry/mother-mary-warrior-queen/ I only remember ...
