I have a better grasp of John 1:1, but in my opinion, this is a great message to receive the magnitude of “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God.” Someone asked how I pray with Matt.  Well, I listen to him; he listens to me even when I’m silent; and I turn more stuff I need to hear on so he can passively listen if he wants.  He learned part of “Hail Mary” that way.   https://youtu.be/b7ljTMVN5HY
I heard what patience is today - “Waiting with a good attitude” ie trust John 16:33  Someone messaged me NYE ‘21 believing 2022 was going to be better.  2022 was good to me and my family, and it sounded good to her, too, when we wished each other a Merry Christmas in 2022 since we last talked that NYE.
We had a brand new Christmas Eve this year, and at a stoplight downtown on our way home “burying treasure” just floated into my presence of mind.  Then, I met this verse tonight.   Peppermint Pie turned out!  It was fun to create with Matt and taste with our family.  The most surprise was how well the crust cut.   January 2, 2023 I have been thinking about Luke 2:19 and this podcast popped up.   https://youtu.be/3DN7Qk5vHrI  His cadence is really fast, so it is easy to zone out.  I caught bits and pieces.  What I kept most was his statement where Mary’s faith deepened - in the courage and willingness to persevere through the prolonged darkness and confusion.
Luke 2 I liked this lightning illustration.
I have been wondering about St. Paul’s thorn, and at 37:23 in this conversation, he made it complete sense to me.  Too, I like the thought he quoted - “Part of Christ’s mission is to teach us not to be afraid of suffering.”  https://youtu.be/u4NYU11_sv0   He talks about suffering well; I told Matt about the lady I saw leaving the Walmart parking lot yesterday.  She was holding a sign and roses, but she was holding a SMILE on her face.  It was strange enough for me to record because it was the first time I ever saw someone smiling like she was with a sign for help.  I waved back at her with a smile just as big being all I had to give, and she tracked me with hers as I drove off.  It was an honest moment.
I have thought exactly this!  Think Luke 2:10.  “We can think about this as a far away event happening long ago or we can recognize these events didn’t just happen then, they happen now.” - Fr. Michael O’Connor  https://youtu.be/206aPjf5Y5c
To be well-formed in Faith one of the great disciplines we need is silence. - Father Mike O’Connor https://youtu.be/8Lxu8bGZv1w
"The Son of Man came quietly into the world to reclaim it for His Father.  He came as a child so no one could refuse Him.  He came in poverty so no one would feel inferior.  He came defenseless so no one would feel threatened." - Sr Miriam James Heidland
A mother and daughter invited me to cut in line for two books of stamps.  When I dropped my receipt, I met her 7 yo eye to eye and she wished me a Merry Christmas.  It was a cute moment taking my gratitude for their kindness to the next height.
I may have made a 1040 on my SAT but I am reading The Science of the Cross  with connectedness Galatians 4:4-5   I am #feelingintelligent My highlighting is getting heavy. One thing I like to do on the weekend is get coffee with Matt since I make our own coffee during the weekdays.  I found one place in a business park, and Matt and I play a game because their recipes are mindfully crafted.  He picks my drink and I have to guess what the recipe might be.  I wait in the car.  The first time he surprised me with something like a Toasted Smore.  I remember the name of his better - Raspberry New York Cheesecake - because I liked his drink selection more.  The flavor was superb, and it is my favorite recipe so far.  The next time he surprised me, his was Candy Cane. I guessed mine ever so correctly - Gingerbread but it was really Gingerbread Man.  He was surprised.  I was, too, because I knew it was Holiday but the gingerbread was nicely...
It is neat to find the words you wished you had all along for a prayer to know the “right” words are never necessary. Matthew 18:2-4 (Dec 5, 2022 YES!  https://youtu.be/0hj8oEnIHN0 )
I put on makeup for the first time in I don’t think I have put makeup on this year.  So I checked the Bible verse of the day because.  The chance made me smile John 1:1-2, 1:14 Matt and I were going to a Christmas event tonight, but the weather turned dreary, so we all stayed in.  I basically got dressed for Jesus!  I remember when Amanda, Kate and I saw Mom in makeup since YEARS.  We were all floored.  That photo of the four of us celebrating Amanda’s engagement in spring 2021 became the photo I assigned Dad’s contact to in my phone.  My favorite makeup look I’ve ever done is still my accidental ying-yang face.  I just never finished the second eye, and then I realized what I did there. Christmas was always a fun time growing up.  Mom decked the front porch of East Street with faux garland and red bows with jingle bells, so every time the two front screen doors banged shut they’d jingle.  She’d also deck the windows with the wooden shut...
